1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup melted butter
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup English toffee bits
or confectioner sugar for rolling or topping.

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine sugar, butter, vanilla, flour, baking powder and baking soda. Beat at medium speed until creamy (1-2 minutes). Stir in toffee bits. Form into balls. Place two inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake 11 minutes or until edges just begin to turn light golden brown. Cool 1 minute and remove from cookie sheet.
