24 c. sliced cucumbers
1 c. salt
1 gal. water
1 cup cider vinegar
3 c. water
3 c. cider vinegar
6 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. red pepper
1 tsp. tumeric
2-3 large onions, sliced

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together cucumbers, 1 c.salt, and 1 gal. water. Cover and let sit overnight. The next morning, drain and rinse well. Mix together 1 cup vinegar and 3 cups water. Bring to a boil. Drop enough cucumbers for a pint jar at a time into the vinegar and water mixture. Boil for 1-2 minutes. Pack in jars with a slice of onion in the bottom of each jar. Pour the following mixture over jarred cucumbers: 3 cups vinegar, sugar, red pepper, and tumeric. Cover with seals and rings. Turn jars upside down for a few hours to seal.
