2 c. milk
1/2 c. lard
1 egg
1/2 tbsp. salt
1/8 c. sugar
yeast - 1 packet or 1 small cake
5 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk till scalding. Add lard, salt, egg and sugar to milk. Cool before adding yeast. Use a small amount of sugar (from 1/8 cup) to help dissolve yeast in 1/2 c. water. Add flour.

Knead till blisters form and dough holds its shape. Put in warm place to rise (no breeze) and cover with a towel. It should double in size. Let dough rise for approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Spread flour on breadboard. Put part of raised dough on board and knead slightly and cut into pieces for biscuits, place on greased cookie sheet and let rise before baking. Bake at 400º till brown on top.
