1 1/2 cups uncooked white rice
1 1/2 lbs. hamburger
5 cups water
1/2 cup Soy Sauce
1 large onion
2-3 cups chopped celery
1 small can mushrooms
1 can mushroom soup
Salt and pepper to taste

Brown meat and onions. Then mix with other ingredients and bake 2 hours.

This was an old but well-liked recipe. In later years we changed it around a little, served it over rice and called it Hamburger Chow Mein.
