Beef roast, cut into cubes
Potatoes
Flour
Carrots
Salt & pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Cube roast. Dredge in flour, salt & pepper mix. Brown in pan with 2 T. shortening. Salt and pepper again. Add water and simmer until beef is done.
Add potatoes, cubed and carrots, cut small. Add more water, salt and pepper and continue cooking until done. Sprinkle on flour at the end to thicken juices.

This was the favorite of the field crew. It can use lots of seasoning. The longer it cooks on low, the better it gets. I used to do it with tomato juice for the liquid until one day I was in to Grandma Mabel's and she did it this way and I loved it.
