1 c. lentils
2 c. rice
2 large onions
3 c. water
1 t. cumin
1/4 c. oil
salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine lentils, water, salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat for 7 minutes or until lentils are half-cooked.

2. Add rice and cumin and cook until water is absorbed and rice is tender.

3. Quarter and slice peeled onions and fry in oil until dark brown. Drain the onions and reserve as garnish.

4. Pour the cooked oil over the Mujaddarah and mix well.

5. Serve Mujaddarah with caramelized onion garnish.
