Conviction

Conviction: In all things that you do. If your mind is uncertain, if you are waffling on a decision or a belief then you will be swayed, you will fret, you will wallow in indecision.

An example: a decision you have made about your children. If you haven't truly committed to a decision, they will wear you down. If a curfew is 10pm, make sure you are convinced that is the right curfew time for this child at this stage in life. When you are committed to your decision, they can't drive you crazy with whining for a different time...kids learn very quickly whether whining will work or not; if it does they will do a lot of it, if it doesn't work... they may try a couple of times and then they will give up.

Another example: Bedtime, if you are committed to the bedtime ritual... you will have a smooth process night after night; if you are not committed, you will be a very tired and frustrated parent.

Now, if I could only find the commitment towards weight loss...
