You have to have a zero tolerance policy regarding your children fighting with each other. You have to commit to this ZERO tolerance policy. No fighting is allowed ever.

Start this when the kids are tiny. When they begin to fight the absolute worst punishment is that they are not allowed to play with each for a period of time, at least 30 minutes, I guarantee before the 30 minutes is up, they will be begging to be allowed into the same room. This is how they realize how much fun their brother/sister is, and how bored they are without them as playmates. When they learn this; on their own the knowledge is deeply embedded without them being aware they learned the lesson.
