"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. soft butter (real butter)

1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda (dissolved in 4 Tbsp. milk)
2 tsp. vanilla

Combine flour, salt and butter. Mix thoroughly with fingers.

Add sugar, eggs, soda-milk and vanilla. Mix well.

Roll dough out on floured surface until it is about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. (Do not over bake and get overly brown; they should be very light.)

Frost with butter frosting that has been colored. Decorate.

(Do not roll out all of dough at once. Roll out small portions, mixing leftover dough with new dough.)
