1 lb. hamburger
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 bunch celery, chopped
1 can mushrooms, drained or fresh mushrooms
1 can water chestnuts
¼ c. soy sauce
Salt and pepper

Thickener:
½ c. water
2 T. corn starch

Directions:
Directions:
Brown hamburger and onions. Add chopped celery, mushrooms, water chestnuts, and soy sauce. Cover with water and simmer until celery is tender. Add salt, pepper, and more soy sauce to taste. Mix thickener ingredients and slowly stir into chow mein to desired thickness.
