1 c. unsifted flour
2/3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. milk
2 c. water
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 T. butter
whipping cream

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together into a mixing bowl. Stir in raisins, then milk. Stir just to blend well. Pour batter into a greased 9 inch square baking pan.

Heat together the water, brown sugar and butter, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour the syrup over the batter in the baking dish. Don't worry if the syrup seems too thin. The batter will rise enough through it and mix to make a delicious sauce.

Bake in a 350º oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Serve with cream.
