1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
fruit, canned or fresh
1/2 - 3/4 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together flour, 1 cup sugar, milk, salt and baking powder. Melt butter in 9x13 baking pan in oven. Pour flour mixture over butter. DO NOT STIR INTO BUTTER. Pour fruit over flour mixture. DO NOT STIR IN. Sprinkle with additional sugar. Bake at 350º about 45 minutes or until browned.

NOTE: If using fresh fruit, first mix with enough sugar to sweeten to your liking and then add about 3/4 cup water. Let stand until sugar is dissolved before using in cobbler.
