1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 (10 oz.) pkg. caramels
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Grease a 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Mix cake mix according to package instructions. Pour 1/2 of the batter into the cake pan. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. While cake is baking, melt caramels with milk and butter. When melted and cake has been in the oven for 15 minutes, spread the caramel mixture over the top. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over caramel mixture. Pour rest of the cake batter over the top and return to oven. Bake for 20 minutes or until cake is done.
