1 cup butter or margarine softened
cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Gradually add four and salt; mix well. Cover and chill for 15 minutes. Roll dough on a floured surface to inch thickness. Cut with a 2 inch cookie cutter. Place 2 inches a part on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 14 16 minutes or until the edges just begin to brown. Makes 3 dozen.
