1 1/2 sticks sweet butter
1/2 c granulated sugar
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
2 T water
1 t vanilla extract
2/3 c all purpose flour
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t salt
1/2 t baking soda
3 c quick cooking oats
8 oz chopped dates

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 -

Cream butter and both sugars until fluffy. Add egg and beat thoroughly - add water and vanilla

Sift together flour, cinnamon, salt and baking soda- add to egg mixture and mix well. Add oats and dates and mix

Drop by spoonful on cookie sheet - bake for 15 to 17 minutes - remove to rack and cool
