Ingredients: 1 lb Ground Sirloin or Chuck, 1 Small Onion diced, 1 T. Olive Oil, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 Can beef consume or beef broth. 1 can green peas drained, salt, pepper, Garlic powder and Tony's Seasoning a couple shakes of each. 1 Package Instant Mashed Potatoes, Prepare per package directions. 1 Box Jiffy Cornbread Mix, Prepare per package directions. 3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese. (mild or medium only, the sharp becomes too greasy)

Directions:Preheat oven to 375 º Spray 8x11 casserole dish with Pam. Begin browning ground meat in olive oil breaking it up as you go. Season while cooking with the salt, pepper, garlic powder and Tony's. When half way done throw in onions and continue cooking until meat is cooked thru, drain and pour in casserole dish. Mix soup and broth together with a whisk until smooth, pour over ground meat, layer peas over meat/soup mixture, do not mix, just layer, spread potatoes next, then sprinkle cheese over entire casserole, next pour cornbread mixture over the top of the cheese. Pop in oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until cornbread is firm to the touch and turning golden brown.
This is a very good one dish meal that is hearty and one of my favorites. It is easy for a kid to prepare when learning how to cook. |

Notes: Although I prefer this as I have submitted the recipe, you could also add a jar of sliced mushrooms and/or pimentos to the meat mixture. Be sure and drain liquid off first.
