1 lb. ground beef 1/2 lb. pork sausage 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs 1/2 cup onion 1/2 cup milk or cream 1 tsp. pepper 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1 egg 1/4 cup flour 2 Tbsp. shortening 2 beef bouillon cubes
Mix beef, pork, onion, bread crumbs, milk, salt, pepper and egg. Shape into balls and brown in shortening. Remove and stir flour drippings, cook until flour is brown. Add water and bouillon cubes. Cook and stir until boiling. Reduce heat and add balls. Simmer for about an hour.
