1 c. white cornmeal
1 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter or margarine

2/3 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º. Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Cut in butter until coarse. Add milk and stir until mixture forms a smooth ball.

Knead 5 - 7 times. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut into 2-inch biscuits. Place on cookie sheet and bake about 15 minutes. Split and spread with butter

Place thin sliced country ham slices in biscuits. Cheese grits are a good accompaniment.
