2 cups very warm water 2 pkgs. active dry yeast 12 tbsp. sugar 1 stick butter or margarine (room temperature) 2 tsp. salt 1 egg 6 1/2 cups flour
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand 5 minutes. Add sugar, butter, salt, egg and mix well. Add 1/2 the flour. Mix well and add the remaining flour and knead 5 minutes. Let rise until doubled in size. Knead for 5 minutes. Shape into loaves and let double in size. Bake at 350º for 40 minutes.
