6 T. butter
1/3 c. sherry
small onion, chopped
1 1/2 c. cooked wild rice
1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. pepper
4 c. chicken broth
salt to taste
1 c. whipping cream

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in saucepan. Add onion and cook 5 minutes until soft. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute, stirring often. Add broth and whisk until smooth. Add cream and sherry and heat to a simmer. Add rice, pepper and salt. Simmer gently 5 minutes, just until heated through and slightly thickened.
