2 large onions, chopped
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 16 oz can tomato puree
2 28 oz cans tomatoes
1 cup white vinegar
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons molasses
2 tablespoons mustard
Juice of 1 lemon

In a large saucepan, heat oil. Add onions and sauté about 7 – 10 minutes. Add all the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 2 – 3 hours.

This sauce is served with Texas-style barbequed brisket. Also good with any smoked meat, including sausage, pork and chicken.
