1 lb fresh button mushrooms, wash and remove stems (keep)
2 tbsp. chopped onion
2 tbsp butter
1 slice sandwich bread (any kind)
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 c. real bacon bits (or fresh bacon cooked and chopped)

Directions:
Directions:
Retain the stems from the mushrooms; chop the stems. In a skillet melt the butter and place chopped stems and onions in the butter; cook until tender. Break up the slice of bread into small pieces and add to the mixture. Remove from the heat; stir in bacon and cheese. Stuff the mixture into the mushrooms and place on a cookie sheet, broil the mushrooms for a few minutes and serve warm. Keep an eye on these so they don't burn.
