3 lb hamburger
Salt
1 onion, chopped
1 can (28-oz) stewed tomatoes
1 4-oz can stems and pieces of mushrooms (optional)
1 jar (15 1/2-oz) Ragu Spaghetti Sauce
1 can chili beans
1 can kidney beans
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp salt
1 scant tbsp chili powder (or season to taste)

Brown hamburger and onion first. Cover and bake at 325 for 1 1/2 hours. Serve with fresh warm bread.

Mom's note: "This is a good one for the crock-pot." I found another copy of this same recipe in the recipe box, except this one is titled, "Pam Llewellyn's Chili." This copy of the recipe was clipped was the Gazette, and states this recipe is the "winner of Western Heritage Center's 'Pride of the West' chili contest."
