3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening
1 pkg active dry yeast or 1 yeast cake
1/3 cup lukewarm water
5 tbsp white vinegar plus enough sweet milk to make 1/3 cup liquid

Directions:

Sift together flour, soda, salt and sugar into mixing bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse corn meal. Dissolve yeast in water. Let stand 10 minutes. Combine vinegar and milk. Blend thoroughly. Gradually add liquid to dry mixture, stirring only until flour is blended and dough pulls away from sides of bowl. Turn on to lightly floured board. Knead gently about 1 minute. Roll in rectangle 1/4" thick. Spread with 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up from long side. Cut in 3/4" slices. Let rise about 1 hour. Bake at 375º for 15 minutes.
