1 cup boiling water
2 1/2 tsp soda
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
2 cups All-Bran
1 cup 40% Bran Flakes
1 cup chopped dates or raisins
1 cup chopped nuts
1 pt buttermilk (dry milk can be used)
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over soda and let cool. Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add remaining ingredients. Bake 400 for 20 minutes.

Batter may be kept up to 6 weeks in refrigerator, and bake as you need. Makes 3 dozen.
