3/4 cup shortening (part butter)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour (Patty adds 1/4 cup more)
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Frosting:
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups powdered sugar
1/4 tsp cream of tarter
1 - 2 tbsp milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla thoroughly. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Chill 1 hour. Roll out--not too thin, not to thick. Bake in 400 oven 6 - 8 minutes. Frost with ornamental frosting. Makes 4 dozen.
