1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/2 cups flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 t. cinnamon
3/4 C. wheat germ
3 T. blackstrap molasses
dates,raisins, nuts as desired

Mix in order given. Stir just to moisten. Bake in greased or lined muffin pans in a 425 oven for 20-25 minutes.

Variation: Omit nutmeg, cinnamon, and molasses. Add 1 cup fresh raspberries or blueberries.
