3/4 C. butter (soft)
1/3 C. confectioner's sugar
4 1/2 teas. sugar
2 teas. almond extract
1 1/3 C. all purpose flour
1/4 teas. salt
1 egg beaten
slivered almonds
cinnamon sugar

Cream butter & sugars , beat in extract. Combine flour & salt. Gradually add creamed mixture. Cover & refrigerate for 1 hour.
Roll dough between waxed paper 1/8 " thick, use 3 1/2 cookie cutter.
Flour a spatula, lift cookies on baking sheet 1 inch apart ungreased. Brush with egg. Decorate with almonds. Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Bake @ 325 degrees 12-16 minutes Cool 2 minutes.
