1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 1 c. milk 3 c. flour 2 t. cream of tartar 1/2 t. soda 1 t. salt 1 t. vanilla 6 egg whites, beaten stiff
Cream butter and add sugar. Mix cream of tartar, soda, salt and flour; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Fold in egg whites and then fold in coconut. Bake in 9x13 pan at 350 degrees for 45-50 min. or until cake tests done.
