1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2/3 cup liquid shortening
1 egg
1 cup sour milk
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cup diced raw rhubard
1/2 cups chopped nuts
Topping" 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp margarine, melted

Mix ingredients in order given. Divide dough & put into 2 greased & floured loaf pans. For topping Mix together sugar & margarine. Sprinkle on loaf before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 min. Do not overbake. This bread freezes well.
