1 1/2 lbs. cubed beef chuck 1 Tbsp. oil 1 clove garlic 1 medium chopped onion 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 can tomato soup 1 cup dry red wine 1/2 cup water 1/4 tsp. basil 1/4 tsp. thyme 1/2 cup ketchup 4 carrots (sliced) 4 celery stalks (chopped) 4 potatoes (cubed)
Brown meat in oil. Saute onions until transparent and add to meat along with the garlic, salt, pepper, soup, wine, and water; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add basil, thyme, ketchup, and vegetables; cover and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours longer.
