1/2 Sugar Candy Dough
1 pkg Betty Crocker Fluffy White Frosting Mix
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup boiling water
1 pkg (1 lb) confectioners' sugar
2 cups red candied cherries, cut in half, or 2 cups frozen whole cranberries, washed and dried
1/2 cup roasted diced almonds

Directions:

Heat oven to 425º. Spread dough evenly in ungreased oblong pan, 13 x 9". Bake about 10 minutes or until slightly browned. In small mixer bowl, combine frosting mix (dry mix), corn syrup, vanilla and water. Beat on high speed until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes. Transfer to larger mixer bowl; on low speed, gradually blend in sugar. Fold in cherries. Spread mixture evenly over dough. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool. With sharp knife dipped in hot water, cut into 1-inch squares. Allow squares to dry 12 hours or overnight on waxed paper. Store squares in airtight container. Makes about 6 dozen.
