1/2 Sugar Candy Dough
1 tsp red food color
1/4 tsp yellow food color
1/2 tsp peppermint extract
Confectioners' sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º. Divide dough in half. To one half, mix in food colors and extract. Divide each half into 12 pieces; drop colored and plain pieces alternately into square pan 9 x 9" to form checkerboard. Pat dough evenly, swirling colors for marbled effect. Bake about 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately cut into thin sticks, 4 1/2 x 1/2". Sift sugar over warm sticks. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
NOTE: If using 1 recipe Basic Sugar Candy Dough, follow directions above except--use 2 tsp red food color, 1/2 tsp yellow food color, and 1 tsp peppermint extract. Bake in jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 1/2". Makes 5 dozen.
