1/4 c sugar 2 T shortening
1/4 tsp salt 1 c flour
1 egg 1/2 c milk
1 t baking powder apples, peeled & cored
Streusel
1 c sugar 2 T melted butter
2 T flour 1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream together sugar, shortening and salt. Add egg and milk and beat well. Mix together flour and baking powder and add to creamed mixture.
2. Spread in greased 9"x13" pan and cover with apple pieces (cut apples in quarters).
3. Combine streusel ingredients and sprinkle over apples.
4. Bake at 375º for 45 min.

I try to use McIntosh or Jonathan apples. They remain firmer when cooked and are not too juicy.
