3 cups macaroni (cooked) (Ruth and family prefer shell macaroni for this.)
1 onion, diced
1/2 cup or more celery, diced
1/4 green pepper (optional)
4-5 hard boiled eggs, diced
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish (or 2 tablespoons sweet pickles, finely diced)
3 small cans tuna
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon salt

Dressing:

3/4 cup sugar
1 cup mayonnaise (salad dressing)
2 tablespoons vinegar or pickle juice

Directions:
Directions:
1. Blend salad ingredients.
2. Mix dressing ingredients well and stir into salad mixture.
3. Store in refrigerator for several hours before serving.

The recipe says the tuna is optional, but once you have it with the tuna, it's the only way to go - a perfect summer meal served on a crisp leaf of lettuce with a side of cantaloupe.
