1 1/2 cups shortening
1 3/4 cups brown sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
2 cups flour (I use half wheat flour and half all-purpose)
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
6 cups regular oatmeal
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together shortening, brown sugar, eggs, milk. Mix in flour, cinnamon, salt, baking soda. Then mix in the oatmeal, chocolate chips, nuts, and raisins. Bake at 375 for 8 min.

Nora submitted my mom's raisin spice cookie recipe which is very similar to this recipe. I don't know why I prefer this recipe. I admit, I never enjoyed my dad's mom's cookies as a kid. So, it is strange that now, as an adult, this is among my favorite cookies!
