Cream together: 1/2 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar

Sift together 1/2 tsp salt
and add to 2 tsp baking powder

Blend into 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Roll out dough and cut with cookie cutter. Bake on a lightly greased cokie sheet for 8 to 10 minutes.

For extra sparkle and color, glaze the cookies using the following: blend together 3/4 cup sifted confectioners sugar and 3 to 4 tsp water. Add food coloring to make desired color. While cookies are warm brush with glaze.
