1-1/2 tsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 can tomato puree
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 cup tomato paste
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 sprig basil, roughly chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Heat olive oil and add garlic and onion. Sauté until soft but not browned. Add the puree, crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Stir well and bring to a low simmer. Season with salt, chili powder and sugar. Add the basil and continue to simmer for about one hour, until sauce has thickened slightly and flavors are combined.
