1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. grated lemon peel
1/3 c. sour cream
2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Confectioners' sugar icing

Cream together butter or margarine and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg, vanilla and lemon peel. Stir in sour cream. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, soda and nutmeg. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture, stirring until smooth. Chill dough. On lightly floured surface, roll 1/8 to 1/4 in. thick. Cut in desired shaped with large cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 oven for 12-14 min. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet and cool on rack. Frost with confectioners' sugar icing; decorate. Makes 1 to 1 1/2 dozen large cookies.
