1 c. crisco
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. cold coffee
2 tsp. soda added to coffee
3 c. flour
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. apples, shredded
1 c. raisins
1 c. walnuts
Never Fail Butterscotch Frosting:
1 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first 10 ingredients together. Add apples, raisins and walnuts. Bake 1 hour at 350º in two 9" round cake pans.
Frosting: Mix brown sugar, butter, milk, and salt together in saucepan and boil 3 min. Cool to lukewarm. Add powdered sugar and beat until thick enough to spread.
