3 or 4 slices white bread
1 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
2 c. cold milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Raisins if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly butter upper part of double boiler.
Butter the bread, cut into 1/2" cubes. Place bread carefully on the brown sugar which has been placed in double boiler. If you wish add raisins. Beat the eggs well. Add the cold milk and vanilla. Pour over bread. DO NOT STIR. Cook over boiling water 1 to 2 hours. Pour into large bowl. The brown sugar makes a syrup over the top.
