Cut plantanos in 1/4 in. slices. Heat oil in pan until small piece sizzles. Brown lightly on both sides. Remove and smack each one with a mallet (if you don't have one, you can use the bottom of a glass). Return to pan and finish cooking. They should be crisp on the outside, like a thick potato chip. Add seasoned salt and enjoy!

If you use yellow plantanos, they are sweet, and can be used as a dessert. Don't use the seasoned salt then, amd don't flatten them, just lightly saute.
