5 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
1 large can tomato puree
3 cloves garlic
small amount water
1 tsp fennel seed
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 tsp. oregano
2 or 3 green peppers sliced
1 large jar sliced mushrooms

Directions:
Directions:
Put sausage in a pan with a little water to cover sausages. Cover and bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Refrigerate until fat hardens. Remove fat. Add garlic to liquid and boil a few minutes. Add tomato puree & seasonings. Simmer for 1/2 hour. Add sausage. Cover and bake at 275 degrees for 3 hours. Top with green peppers & mushrooms about 1/2 hour before sausage is done.
