l/2 lb. little smokies
l4 l/2 oz. can of sweet Bavarian coarse cut style sauerkraut (Del Monte brand is good)
1 lb. cold boiled potatoes, cut in 3/4" to l" pieces

In a large skillet (preferably cast iron) at medium heat, preheat olive oil. Next, add smokies, sauerkraut, and potatoes. Stir frequently, cook until sauerkraut is lightly browned. (Okay to brown the potatoes, also).

Serve with French bread and margarine or butter.

*(Little smoked sausages with sauerkraut and potatoes) Rita never used the German words.
This how I make it, and how I best remember that Rita, who was a far better cook than I, prepared this dish.

Also, best with dark German beer----Warsteiner Dunkelbrau is excellent; Michelob Amber Bock and Shiner Bock also very good. The dish is, of course, very good with pale lager.
