2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 eggs 2 1/2 c. flour 1 t. soda 1/2 c. nuts (optionalj) 1/2 t. nutmeg 1/2 t. salt 6 diced apples Butter sauce: 2/3 c. butter 2/3 c. cream 2/3 c. brown sugar 2/3 c. white sugar 1 t. vanilla
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Stir in dry ingredients and diced apples. Put in greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350º for 35-40 minutes. Bring sauce ingredients to boil. Cool. Pour over cake at serving time.
