2 cup sugar
8 eggs
2 tall cans evaporated milk (no substitute)
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup sugar for caramelizing
Caramel Sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Measure one cup of sugar into heavy skillet. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar melts and is light amber in color, pour quickly into 8 in. square pan, tilting pan to coat with caramelized sugar evenly. Let cool Thoroughly. Combine eggs, 2 cups sugar, evaporated milk and vanilla in bowl and beat gently on low speed until well mixed. Pour custard into caramelized lined pan. Cover with foil and place in a larger pan. Add water to larger pan (approximately 1 inch). Bake at 350 degrees fro approximately 45 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean. Cool. Cut into squares to serve; turn squares upside down and spoon caramel sauce on top.
