1 (20 oz.) pkg, frozen shredded hash brown potatoes
1/3 c. butter, melted
1 tsp. beef bouillon granules
1 lb. Italian sausage
1/3 c. chopped onion
1 c. small curd cottage cheese
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. Gruyere cheese, coarsely grated
1 small can chopped green chiles, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 10-inch pie plate.
In large bowl, combine hash browns, butter and bouillon. Press onto bottom and sides of pie plate. Bake 25-30 minutes, until edges are lightly browned. Meanwhile, in large skillet, cook sausage and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Combine sausage mixture and remaining ingredients. Pour into crust. Bake 40-45 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.
