1 unbaked pie crust

Lower part:
1/2 c. sugar
4 T. cocoa
6 T. water
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Upper cake:
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, beaten
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Directions:
Directions:
Line 9" pie plate with crust. Mix together lower part ingredients and pour into unbaked pie shell.

For upper cake, cream together sugar and butter. Add milk, egg and vanilla alternately with flour and baking powder. Spread this over cocoa mixture. The chocolate will come up around the outside edge as the cake bakes.

Bake in 350º oven for 35 minutes or until firm.
