Filling:

1 lb. dates
2 1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
3/4 - 1 c. water
2 orange slices, cut in pieces



Bars:

1/2 c. butter
1 Tbsp. hot milk
1 c. brown sugar
1 3/4 c. flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dates, sugar, 2 Tbsp. flour, and water in saucepan. Boil till dates are soft. While still hot, add orange slices (cut in pieces).
Mix the rest of the ingredients. Put half in bottom of greased and floured pan, then the filling; then add the other half. Bake at 350º for about 30-35 minutes.
