3/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup potatoes
1 1/2 cup carrots
1 1/2 cup raisins
1 tbsp baking powder
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
3/4 tsp cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs. Add carrots, potatoes and raisins. Mix slightly. Add the flour, spices, etc. Steam in a shortening can or bottle with a tight lid, or in top of double boiler, filled 2/3 full, for 3 hours. Serve hot with lemon sauce.
